Overview

NEHSA's winter program provides opportunities for disabled people to learn to ski and snowboard.

NEHSA instructors, many of whom are disabled, undergo rigorous training. Many go on to be certified by the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI). These experienced instructors train other volunteers and have helped establish other disabled programs throughout New England.

The lessons learned on the mountain will stay with me forever. I truly believe that skiing has made the difference in a total new life. I now live by the saying, " If I can do this, I can do anything." (Ed is a paraplegic that was injured 32 years ago in an army vehicle accident. He has been skiing for 12 years.)
